In vista della big race in programma il prossimo fine settimana nella strepitosa location dell’Alto Garda, la segreteria del comitato organizzatore è stata letteralmente presa d’assalto.  Nonostante il tutto esaurito, viste le numerose richieste, gli uomini della SS Limonese hanno rimesso in palio alcuni numeri per la prova principe, 29km di vero skyrunning (2540m d+), con partenza e arrivo nella suggestiva location di Lungolago Marconi.

Numeri e livello per la finalissima del Migu Run Skyrunner® World Series di sabato 14 ottobre. Una finalissima che vedrà al via tutti i migliori interpreti della specialità. Alcuni di loro hanno nel mirino il ranking mondale, altri tenteranno la stoccata in una gara che vale la stagione. I “bad boy” del Team Salomon  Stian Angermund & Remì Bonnet potrebbero infatti rimescolare le carte in tavola e sconvolgere i calcoli dei leader di classifica Aritz Egea (Spa) e Marco De Gasperi (Ita). Insieme a quest’ultimi, coltivano un sogno mondiale anche lo svizzero Pascal Egli e lo spagnolo Jan Margarit.

Al femminile attenzione alla spagnola Maite Maiora, già vincitrice della Limone Extreme e super favorita dopo le ultime modifiche che renderanno la sky di confine tra Lombardia e Trentino ancora più dura e muscolare. Per quanto riguarda invece il ranking di coppa l’altra iberica Laura Orguè dovrà guardarsi dagli attacchi dell’americana Hilary Gerardi e delle connazionali Aviles Sheila – Oihana Azkorbebeita.  

Non solo finale World Series, venerdì 13 ad aprire il lungo week end griffato Dynafit sarà la prova unica di Skyrunner European Championship, nella consueta versione “by night”.  Per il Vertical Kilometer Grèste de la Mughéra, 1100 m di dislivello positivo in nemmeno 3 km di percorso a picco sul lago, restano a disposizione ancora pochissimi pettorali. Tanti sono i campioni alla ricerca di un successo che vale un titolo continentale.

"Extra race bibs added for SkyRace. Even the Vertical Km is almost sold out"

Skyrunners have caught the Limone Skyrunning Extreme fever! In view of the big race scheduled for next weekend in the fabulous Alto Garda location, the organizing committee office has been literally taken by storm. Despite it being "all sold out", the SS Limonese Association decided, after receiving numerous requests, to add more race bibs to the main event: the 29 km skyrunning course (with a 2,540 meter climb), with the start and finish on the striking Lungolago Marconi.

The number of prestigious contestants in the Migu Run Skyrunner® World Series, held on Saturday, October 14, is impressive, and the top athletes of this specialty will participate. Several are aiming for top international ranking, while others are seeking a win that is worth an entire season. Stian Angermund and Remì Bonnet, the bad boys of Team Salomon, may reshuffle the deck and upset the calculations of the leaders of the pack Aritz Egea (Spain) and Marco De Gasperi (Italy). Pascal Egli from Switzerland and Jan Margarit of Spain are also dreaming of taking the world title.

In the women's category, all eyes are on Maite Maiora from Spain, a past winner of Limone Extreme and super favorite after the latest modifications that will make the skyrunner course between the Lombardy and Trentino regions even tougher and demanding. In the world cup ranking, Laura Orguè from Spain will have to watch out for American Hilary Gerardi and from her Spanish colleagues Aviles Sheila and Oihana Azkorbebeita.  

Besides the World Series finale, on Friday, October 13, the long weekend sponsored by Dynafit will begin with the Skyrunner European Championship in the usual nighttime version. A few race bibs are still available for the Grèste de la Mughéra Vertical Kilometer event, with a nearly 1,100 meter climb in a course of less than 3 km up sheer cliffs overlooking the lake. Many champions will be there, attempting to win a race that is as important as a continental title.
