Lo scorso weekend a Torino si è svolta l’Assemblea plenaria della Ismf, la Federazione Internazionale di Scialpinismo. L’Assemblea organizzata dai vertici della Federazione è servita per chiudere la stagione 2011/2012, e per gettare le basi di nuovi progetti in vista delle prossime competizioni di Coppa del Mondo e dei Campionati Mondiali di scialpinismo in programma il prossimo febbraio a Pelvoux in Francia.

A Torino, le quindici Federazioni nazionali presenti, Germania, Turchia, Svezia, Svizzera, Belgio, Austria, Spagna (FEDME e FEEC), Andorra, Russia, Francia, Portogallo, Giappone, Corea e Italia, recanti anche le deleghe per le Federazioni del Canada, della Bulgaria, della Norvegia e dell’Argentina.

Hanno discusso e reso operativi i regolamenti che governeranno la prossima stagione. Le modifiche alle norme (in fase di pubblicazione sul sito ufficiale della Federazione) riguardano principalmente gli aspetti tecnici delle competizioni con particolare attenzione ai dislivelli.

Durante la prima fase di discussione la Federazione Turca e quella Russa hanno presentato due eventi sportivi che aspirano a entrare nel circuito internazionale delle competizioni della Federazione.

La Federazione Internazionale dopo un anno di lavoro sotto la nuova presidenza di Armando Mariotta ha tracciato un primo dettagliato bilancio e ha proposto alcuni cambiamenti nell’assetto federale. La britannica Rebecca Vernon è stata eletta Vice Presidente, con l’incarico nello “Sport&Events”, l’italiano Marco Mosso, la svizzera Anne Bochatay e l’andorrana Johanna Van De Wal sono stati inseriti nel Management Committee. Nella sfera puramente tecnica ci sono state due nuove nomine: Alexandre Pellicier e Michael Silitch. Il francese Pellicier è il nuovo Direttore Tecnico mentre lo statunitense Silitch affiancherà Jordi Canals come consulente tecnico.

Il nuovo direttore tecnico Alexandre Pellicier oltre a illustrare le modifiche apportate ai regolamenti dai dislivelli ai cambi d’assetto ha reso noto il calendario 2013 della Coppa del Mondo. La Coppa del Mondo 2013 inizierà con l’Ahrntal Ski Alp Race in Valle Aurina in Italia il 12/13 gennaio con una prova di Vertical Race e una prova individuale. La seconda prova si svolgerà sulle nevi della Svizzera il 25/26 gennaio in occasione dell’Alpiniski. Per la terza prova si tornerà in Italia e precisamente a Clusone (Bergamo) il 02/03 marzo. La penultima tappa si correrà sulle nevi del Principato di Andorra il 9/10 marzo. Le finali di Coppa del Mondo si disputeranno a Tromso in Norvegia il 13/14 aprile.

I Campionati del Mondo di Pelvoux sono stati inseriti nel calendario internazionale dal 9 al 15 febbraio.

Oltre a rendere noto il calendario della prossima stagione sono state anche approvate le date limite per la consegna delle candidature per ospitare una prova di Coppa del Mondo.

Per le competizioni del 2014 il termine di consegna delle candidature è fissato per il 31 gennaio del 2013, mentre per la coppa del mondo 2015 il termine è il 31 dicembre 2013

Durante l’intervento di Francoise Dagouret e di Matteo Vallini, entrambi rappresentanti di Sportaccord, relativo al progetto ABP per “l’antidoping” è emerso che la Ismf è stata la prima Federazione non Olimpica ad aderire a questo progetto e che durante questi primi mesi di esami non sono stati riscontrati casi di doping. Gli atleti inseriti nel programma per la creazione del “passaporto biologico” sono stati esaminati sia durante le prove di Coppa del Mondo e degli Europei sia nei periodi di allenamento lontano dalle competizioni. Gli esami continueranno anche nei mesi estivi.

«Sono molto soddisfatto - ha detto Armando Mariotta, presidente della Ismf - dell’andamento di questa stagione. Per il nuovo direttivo non è stato semplice prendere in mano tutti gli elementi che compongono una Federazione Internazionale. La strada è ancora lunga, ma anche durante l’Assemblea mi sono reso conto che tutte le Federazioni nazionali credono nei nuovi progetti. Inoltre sono rimasto sorpreso del livello di collaborazione e di stimolo di tutti i loro membri». «Siamo già al lavoro per la prossima stagione - ha concluso Mariotta - vogliamo fare crescere la Federazione e lo scialpinismo stiamo studiando e analizzando un format ben definito per gli eventi Ismf che porti maggior conoscenza e visibilità a questo affascinante sport».

The Plenary Assembly of ISMF (International Ski Mountaineering Federation) was held last weekend in Turin. Organized by the Board of the Federation, the Assembly also had the purpose of closing the 2011/2012 season and lay down the basis for new projects in view of the next World Cup and World Ski Mountaineering Championship competitions scheduled for next February in Pelvoux, France.
The fifteen national Federations that attended the Turin meeting - Germany, Turkey, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Spain (FEDME and FEEC), Andorra, Russia, France, Portugal, Japan, Korea and Italy – who were also attending as proxies for the Canadian, Bulgarian, Norwegian and Argentinian Federations, discussed and enacted the regulations that will govern the next season. The changes made to the rules (which are presently being published in the official website of the Federation) essentially concern the technical aspects of the competitions, with a special focus on level differences.

During the first part of the debate, the Turkish and Russian Federations presented two sport events as candidates to be included among the international competitions of the Federation.
After a year of work under the guidance of the new president Armando Mariotta, the International Federation prepared a first detailed report and proposed some changes to the federal layout. The British member Rebecca Vernon was elected Vice-President with the task of taking care of the “Sport&Events” sector. The Italian Marco Mosso, the Swiss Anne Bochatay and the Andorran Johanna Van De Wal became members of the Management Committee. Two new appointments were made in the strictly technical field: Alexandre Pellicier and Michael Silitch. France’s Pellicier is the new Technical Manager, while the U.S. Silitch will support Jordi Canals as technical consultant.

The new Technical Manager, Alexandre Pellicier, described the changes made to the regulations, from level differences to layout changes, and then presented the 2013 World Cup calendar. The 2013 World Cup will start with the Ahrntal Ski Alp Race in Valle Aurina, Italy, on January 12-13, with a new Vertical Race trial and an individual trial. The second trial will be on the Swiss snow, January 25 and 26, for the Alpiniski. The third trial will be in Italy again, and more specifically in Clusone (Bergamo) on March 2-3. The fourth trial will be run on the snow of the Principality of Andorra on March 9 and 10 and the World Cup finals will be played in Trømso, Norway, on April 13 and 14.
The Pelvoux World Championship from February 9 to 15 was added to the international calendar.

In addition to disclosing the calendar of the next season, the deadlines were approved for the presentation of the candidate countries for a new World Cup.
The deadline for the presentation of candidates for the 2014 competitions was fixed at January 31st, 2013, while the deadline for the 2015 World Cup is December 31st, 2013.
During Francoise Dagouret’s and Matteo Vallini’s presentations, both the representatives of Sportaccord revealed, regarding the ABP anti-doping project, that ISMF has been the first non-Olympic Federation ever to participate in the project and no case of doping was detected during the first few months of testing. The athletes that took part in the program for the creation of the biological passport were tested during the World Cup and the European trials and during training periods far from competitions. The tests will continue over the summer months as well.
Armando Mariotta, ISMF president, said: “I am extremely satisfied of how this season is progressing. It has not been simple for the new board to take into account all the aspects that make up an International Federation. We still have a lot of work to do, but during the Meeting I realized that all the national Federations believe in the new projects. In addition to that, I was surprised by the excellent level of cooperation and exchange between all the members. We are already working at the next season - Mariotta concluded – and we want to help the Federation and ski mountaineering grow, so we are studying and analysing a well-defined format for ISMF events to contribute more knowledge and visibility to this fascinating sport”.
